Description:
This marvelously maintained Peking carpet uses a peculiar central medallion. The medallion uses a fine crest above the image of a field, all contained by an unseen line. The allover pattern of branching flowers in blue, gold, and white is repeated. The unobtrusiveness of the medallion is made clearer when one looks to the corner niches, in which a crane in blue and brown surveys the field in exquisite detailing.
