Description:
This very fine black, purple, and white Beni uses a simple but effective pattern. The dark purple of the field is cut through by two types of lines, one a gradual fading of the dyes in clear banding, and one a handwoven grid of squares and rectangles. The quasi-diamond pattern cutting a fine figure is not the only instance of white in the carpet, as it is used in the tassels on the ends.
